South Vietnam

South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) is located along the eastern coast of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. South Vietnam was under French rule as French Indochina from to 1862 to 1956.

National Bank of Vietnam

Vietnam became independent from France in 1954. In 1955 the National Bank of Vietnam (Ngan Hang Quoc Gia Vietnam) assumed all central bank functions for South Vietnam.
